Why Fund Our project?
Marbles is an independent short film that we are producing and financing from our own pockets. Every contribution helps bring this story to life.
My goal with Marbles is to create a strong, character-driven short film that can be presented at international film festivals and reach audiences beyond its initial release.
However, Marbles is more than a standalone short film. It is part of a much larger story that I have been developing for several years under the title: The Plague. Through Marbles, I hope to introduce audiences to the world, tone, and emotional core of that larger narrative, particularly the relationship between Amy and Mika.
The long-term vision is to use Marbles as a foundation for future development. By bringing this short film to festivals and sharing it with audiences and industry professionals, I hope to connect with producers, collaborators, and partners who believe in the project and can help expand it further.
My ultimate goal is to develop The Plague into a pilot episode and eventually a full series, allowing Amy and Mika's story to continue on a much larger scale.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps take one step closer toward that goal. Thank you for supporting independent filmmaking and helping make Marbles possible.
Help Make Our Film A Reality
Marbles was born from a question that has stayed with me for years:
How do you care for a child who is not your responsibility, but means everything to you?
As an aunt, I have had the privilege of watching my niece and nephew grow up since the day they were born. Over the years, I found myself thinking about responsibility, family, and the quiet choices we make for the people we love. Not because we have to, but because we choose to.
That question became Amy.
While Marbles takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, it is not directly a story about zombies, survival, or the end of civilization. At its heart, it is a story about two sisters trying to hold onto one another in a world that constantly asks them to let go. It is about childhood, responsibility, grief, and the difficult reality of watching someone you love grow up too quickly.
This project is especially meaningful to me because it is the first budgeted film I am bringing life with a team of established film professionals. I have spent years developing this story, refining these characters, and building the world around them. Every contribution helps transform something that has existed for so long on paper into a film that can finally be shared with others.
By supporting Marbles, you are not simply helping fund a short film. You are helping a dedicated team of emerging filmmakers create a story about family, choice, and the people we carry with us, even when everything else has been lost.
Thank you for believing in this project and helping us bring it to life.
