Meet The writer Director

My name is Isadora Loulou Meurer, also known as Doortje. I’m a Dutch filmmaker from The Hague, currently based in Paris, where I’m studying for a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking at EICAR. As a child and teenager, I was constantly inventing and writing my own stories, whether on paper or simply in my head. My passion for filmmaking began when I was 13 and had a supporting role in the Dutch television series, Judas. Being on set made me curious about everything happening, especially behind the camera, and that curiosity never left.

With the creative influence of my sister, Camilla Meurer, and my brother-in-law, Kevin Schoonderbeek, both working in the film industry as actors, I decided to pursue filmmaking more seriously. After graduating high school, I completed an one-year production course at the Amsterdam Film Academy, where I made my first short film,Vergeten Sporen, before continuing my studies at EICAR Paris.

My work focuses on relationships and how people shape each other, often in situations where they are forced to grow up too quickly. I’m especially drawn to dynamics between a young adult and a child, where care and responsibility become blurred.

co-Director & Cinematographer

My name is Anthony Grossi, and I’m an American filmmaker from Delaware, currently based in Paris. I first came to Paris to work in documentary but found my way into fiction as well after attending EICAR’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking program. Most of my professional film work in Paris has been as first assistant camera and focus pulling, so Marbles will be my first time being Director of Photography on a project at this budget and scale.

I graduated from Cab Calloway School of the Arts where I majored in Vocal Music Performance and Dramatic Arts. This helped reinforce my interest in storytelling and eventually telling stories through composing music. I am extra excited to be working on marbles as I will not only compose the Images but the score for a story that means so much to me.

Audition for our Film!
